Fluoride is a chemical, often used in tap water to make it healthier and provide mineral benefits. Think of floride_news the same way, it is an addition to its audience’s news and media consumption. Providing analysis, and material context.

What sets floride_news apart from other blogs, and news-based content – floride_news focuses on internet culture, independent politics and social obstacles like extremism, violence, human and civil rights abuses.

Often examining unfolding stories outside of trends and analytics, can uncover public issues sooner. Asking questions of the community is important, polling, credible research, discussions with experts - are a few tools of floride_news. We believe in transparent resources management, with appropriate citation, and credits to provide contextual details to the stories we tell. With efforts to share corrections and updates quickly.

People – Well-being – Accuracy – Honesty

We tell stories for people, by people. To share interest and information that pertains across groups, and identities. Without AI, and algorithms dictating reporting.

The goal of our coverage is to support public well-being. Doing so across civil society relies on understanding the world around us, and the politics that affect us all.

Challenges we face, like disinformation, extremism and dangerous propaganda require extensive research. We must search for the most concrete collective truth, maintaining perspectives is necessary, but accuracy cannot be diminished.

Honesty secures trust. Credible evidence and research are foundational aspects of an ethical newsroom. Integrity comes from listening – to opposing perspectives, confronting mistakes, and righting them – these are tells of a trustworthy source.

floride_news: Plan and Guide

Florence was raised in Oklahoma, at the turn of the millennia. She grew up as technology evolved, and as the internet expanded.

With the scope of social media, as it is, born out of forums - subcultures blossomed. The nature of monetizing interaction, media manipulation and control of the web are part of the developing internet ecosystem.

The real world mass communication campaigns at play today coupled with exclusionary politics has ushered in an age of internet diligence - all this falls under Florence's purview.

Background

While Florence has always been interested in news, storytelling and multimedia, her first career was as a City Mail Carrier for USPS. (2017 - 2019)

Later she would hold a position as a hiring manager for AMC Theatres. (2021 - 2023)

Doing gig work, like Lyft and Doordash during the gaps.

She felt it necassary to exceed in her own expectations, and achieve greater insight, and purpose. Leading her to study journalism at CCD.
